Dimension Data Learning Solutions Appoints New General Manager
Sydney, Australia – 14 April 2008 – Dimension Data Learning Solutions (DDLS), Australia’s largest national learning solutions provider, today announced the appointment of David Gage as its new general manager. David joins DDLS from Dimension Data, where he held the position of general manager for Licensing. He replaces Steve Ross, who passed away earlier this year.
“The local IT industry faces significant challenges around staff retention and IT rationalisation,” said David. “Training is part of the solution to overcome these challenges. As a result, the training industry has grown during the past 12 months and DDLS has reflected this growth.”

In his role as general manager, David will build on the success of DDLS’ Balanced Approach training model, which covers training across three core areas: Technology, Process and People.
The company has achieved significant growth in demand for both People and Process courses during the past 12 months. Enrolments in People training (which includes communication and negotiation skills) have increased by 68 percent year on year and in the Process area of training (which includes ITIL, project management and business analysis) enrolments have grown by 25 percent this year.
“IT workers’ needs have changed significantly during the past two to three years,” he said. “Today’s technical worker is far more business savvy and needs to be able to communicate with a range of stakeholders including senior managers and internal department heads. This, combined with the ongoing focus on staff retention will continue to drive skills acquisition in the People and Process training areas.”In his previous role at Dimension Data, Gage was responsible for the financial and strategic direction of the Licensing business across all lines of business. He held a variety of other roles at Dimension Data over a nine year period.
Gage has many interests including golf, cricket and spending time with his three young children. He also holds a position on Westmead Children’s Hospital’s Advisory Board, which provides support for parents of seriously ill babies and conducts fund raising for Neo natal Intensive care.
